Done in less than twelve parsecs by the Millenium Falcon. Incidently, a parsec is both a unit of time and space. I think.

Greedo f---ing shot first. Just in case any of you harbored any suspicion otherwise.

A parsec is a unit of distance only. Its 206265 astronomical units long or about 3.26 light years. A light year is also a unit of distance only, being the distance that a photon of light would travel in one calendar year.

I eventually found out that George Lucas explained the "Did the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs" thing as being a boast of the nav computer's ability to calculate the shortest distance through difficult obstacles. Since they also established that this is an Einsteinian physics universe, light speed is still the fastest you can go, to outrun Star Destroyers you have to be able to cover less distance from point a to b. Or something like that...

Earlier version of the Falcon, before extensive modifications? Very cool.
BTW, a parsec (parallax of one arcsecond; symbol: pc) is a unit of length, equal to just under 31 trillion kilometers (about 19 trillion miles), or about 3.26 light-years.
